Michigan State hockey handles tough test from Irish, wins series opener
MSU goaltender Trey Augustine made a season-high 37 saves to help MSU to a 4-2 win over Notre Dame.
Taking on a rested Penn State squad, the Wolverines came away with two more wins, though the first contest did go to a shootout. Nonetheless, Michigan continues to dominate the NCAA rankings. Free agent T.J. Hughes is still the top scorer on the team, while goalie Jack Ivankovic (NSH) is finding his range again after returning from injury.

The Lumen Christi hockey team picked up a 1-0 regional win over Grand Rapids Catholic Central on Thursday. Jack O’Shea scored what proved to be the only goal the Titans needed, assisted by Boyer Zimmerman and Brody Bruemmer. Michael Palmer made 45 saves in the shutout win.
